May 2016 bring only good things to our precious friends and family...

 and peace and harmony to this fractious world.

We spent New Year's Eve on Mandurah's foreshore, watching the fireworks, gorging on beautiful food and enjoying a Blue's Brother/ Meatloaf/John Lennon show - interesting combo!? - at Redmanna Waterfront Restaurant.  Great fun and a new year we'll remember, not least because the restaurant owner/chef ended up giving us a lift home. We had pre-ordered a taxi for 1am but it was a no show. The restaurant re-ordered a taxi but still no show. By 2.15am, Garry and I were contemplating our options - curl up on a park bench or hike 12km back home - when the restaurant staff emerged and owner Jason insisted on returning us to our humble lodgings. We were truly grateful, our good humour and new year cheer quickly restored.

We've played it very low key since arriving in Mandurah - getting to know the animals, familiarising ourselves with the area  - great beaches and bike tracks - and working on Pedro and Myrtle. They required a few repairs, some maintenance and a huge clean. Much elbow grease was required to rid them of the red dirt that had filtered in to every nook and cranny.

We'll be back on the tourist trail next week with Sebastian joining us for 10 days. More interesting pics and commentary in  a fortnight. We have 3 1/2 weeks until we are back on the road again. We've travelled 20,000km since leaving Greenwell Point in June 2015 and there's many more to come.
