We continued on through South Australia, heading for Adelaide

Adelaide was fab!

We cycled through the Adelaide Park Lands

The Park Lands were proposed in 1837
and form a figure of eight configuration of open space around the city

It's now part of the Australian National Heritage List and identified as an "enduring treasure".
It's brilliant.

We indulged ourselves at the Adelaide Central Markets ....

Yougo Hugo took a liking to the fresh garlic
and turned into an acrobatic dog:)

There was a nature photographic exhibition at the Adelaide Museum.

We stayed at Adelaide Showground and were very taken with the murals

We encountered the mighty Murray River at Bridgetown ...

... so we caught the ferry across the Murray

We stayed over night in Lameroo, a delightful small town with so much pride.

We learned later it is South Australia's 2025 Agricultural Town of the Year.

There was a golf course opposite our campground.
We broke out the three iron and completed a few holes
... a bit more civilised than the Nullabor!

Time to collect more wood for the next camp fire

Our first camp site was on the banks of the Murray, just north of Swan Hill

The ancient single-lane bridge at Swan Hill.
Built in 1896, authorities are still arguing about its replacement

We are great fans of small communities.

The energy and enterprise in the towns are extraordinary.
So it is with Lake Boga, just out of Swan Hill

It has a fascinating history as the maintenance/repair centre for Catalinas during WWII.
This was after the Japanese bombed much of the fleet in Broome.
The silo art above reflects that history ...

... and a fabulous museum preserves the memories

We camped behind the hotel at Lake Boga.

Then it was back to the Murray River

I spotted these pelicans, cormorant and two turtles perched in the river near a weir

When the cormorant spread its wings, one turtle went for an unexpected swim :)

This bridge at Yarrawonga made us laugh.
A joint project, NSW started building one side, Victoria the other.
The states eventually realised they were building in different directions and heights.
The bridge has a bend and bow to allow for these anomalies
