Then the rain came in again and delayed us further ...
A little update on the pea people
While we were away in December 2021 our beautiful peahen Priscilla II produced four chicks.

| You have to look very closely to see the chicks...but they are there. |
Sadly something happened to Priscilla - perhaps a fox? - but her chicks survived. Well for a time.

| Sabrina showed no interest in raising them so we put them in a special cage with the fluffies (bantams). |

| Only one survived and Brown Fluff became her surrogate mother. |
In the meantime Sabrina decided to lay her own eggs ...
 |
| We built a cage around her to protect her from foxes. |
 |
| And they were safe for a while... |
Sadly, it was a python that found its way into the cage.
We've decided it is all too hard and now just have our pea girls.
But back to the building....

| Finally the weather cleared and we were able to install the retaining blocks |

| Garry and Phil helping move them into position |
Then everything came to a shuddering halt.
All the trades people were too busy, especially the concreters.

2023 proved to be a whole different ball game!
