From the mountains to the sea

 A van with a view

Ooo aaaa. Can't go past a cuppa overlooking the water, especially when it is just metres from your front door. We have pulled into Urunga for a few days, most importantly because it is close to brother Phillip who lives in the mountains above Dorrigo. 

Urunga is a beautiful little village just south of Coffs Harbour and as always the caravan park has the best spot in town. It's a balmy 18 degrees today and we are taking it easy, soaking up the sun, and scenery and trying to throw off colds.

I have Garry doing yoga with me most mornings but he won't be in a pic yet. I'll snap him one day. He does a mean pigeon pose. In the meantime, it's just me fooling around...and loving it.

Yesterday, Saturday July 11, we visited brother Phil who lives on Dorrigo Mountain, about 1000 metres above sea level.  It was a beautiful day when we arrived but deteriorated and by afternoon was bitterly cold. Garry cut a load of wood for Phil which we hope will see him through the worst of winter. As the snow clouds rolled in, we hightailed it back to the coast. Brrrrrrrrr

Thursday July 9 we spent with Garry's friends Trevor and Nettie at their house on an island in the Manning River near Old Bar. The Eco Tourer was again abandoned - yes, it's true, after two weeks on the road we had at that stage spent just three nights in it, but we've doubled that figure now - and we made our way across to the property on Trev's punt.

Their house is amazing. It was designed and built by Trevor and is made almost entirely of glass and galvanised iron. The views across the wetlands and paddocks is spetacular.

Nettie's Indian Ringneck called Deanie decided to roost on my head. Deanie has personality plus and chatters away non stop, especially if he can find a phone or calculator to take his calls.
